How to receive the gift of Salvation - Saving Faith

The great theologian, John Wesley, believed that certain aspects of the Christian Faith required special emphasis. Today these four emphasis still hold true and are known as the 'Four Alls':

(1) All need to be saved - "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23) - Sin is a deep-seated self-seeking from which no-one is immune.

(2) All can be saved - We can be saved from the consequences of our sin through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. This is a Gospel ('good news') for everyone - "God sent the Son into the world... that the world might be saved through him" (John 3:17)

(3) All may know themselves saved - through the promises in scripture, the intense conviction of God's graciousness to us individually, and a different outlook on life leading to a changed quality of living - "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

(4) All may be completely saved - there can be no limits on what God can do in our lives, as we are continually becoming more perfect in love for God and our fellow humans.

If you would like to step into this stream of salvation offered to you by the grace of God, all you need to do is accept the gift, acknowledging that you are lost without Him, that on your own you cannot be the person you long to be. In prayer, and with humility, invite Jesus to be Lord of your life, accepting by faith that the sinless King of Kings became man and sacrificially offered his life on a cross so that you might enjoy salvation not only from sin, but to a life lived in His love. Now…this is only the beginning of your journey, for salvation is begun at the time of acceptance of this his gift, but it is not the end. Find a few fellow believers and let them know of your decision to accept Christ’s gift, and then let them show you how a life lived for and in Christ is the greatest journey you will ever take.
